Das Projekt
Das Projekt Fully Algorithmic Librarian (FAN) untersucht Einsatzszenarien KI-gestützter Methoden für forschungsunterstützende Dienstleistungen – insbesondere zur Publikationsunterstützung – in wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken Berlins. Zielsetzung ist die Weiterentwicklung und Publikation von Publikationsmetriken auf Graphen und Prüfung der Anwendung dieser Erkenntnisse in Bibliotheken. Das Projekt wird gefördert im Rahmen des Programms „Stärkung der Innovationskapazitäten in der Informationsversorgung (STiIV)“ vom 01.11.23 bis 31.10.2026.
Organisation
Das Projekt wird durchgeführt vom Kooperativen Bibliotheksverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV), der die Bibliothekslandschaft Berlins und Brandenburgs vernetzt und an zentraler Stelle wichtige Aufgaben für die Mitgliedsbibliotheken übernimmt. Als einziger Bibliotheksverbund in Deutschland ist der KOBV an einem Forschungsinstitut angegliedert. Die unmittelbare, auch räumliche Nähe zu Wissenschaft und Forschung ermöglicht es, zukunftsweisende Verfahren im Informationsmanagement zu konzipieren und auszuprobieren, und die fortlaufende Innovationsfähigkeit zu sichern. Der KOBV profitiert dabei maßgeblich von der Ausrichtung des Zuse-Instituts Berlin (ZIB) als Forschungsinstitut für angewandte Mathematik und datenintensives High-Performance-Computing.
